Sensory-Friendly Inside Out Party

Sensory-Friendly Inside Out Party

Registration required! Join the Library for a sensory-friendly* version of our Inside Out Party! Celebrate all your emotions and make some core memories at the Library’s Inside Out Party where we will dance, play games, make crafts, and hum the tune to TripleDent gum. Books are full of Joy, Anger, Fear, Disgust, and Sadness, and this summer we are asking everyone to Read, Renew and Repeat books that give all the feelings!

The Library understands that our large events can be difficult for some of our patrons and their families to attend and enjoy. In order to make the Inside Out Party more sensory-friendly, we are adding an additional hour that is registration-only in order to keep noise and crowd levels low. All-ages welcome and costumes encouraged.

*A sensory-friendly event is an event that is designed to be less sensory-stimulating and overwhelming. This approach often makes it easier for individuals who have sensory sensitivities, such as those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who are sensitive to things like noise, colors, sounds, and smells, to participate in social activities and community or professional events. -The Autism Services, Education, Resources, and Training Collaborative (ASERT)
