Joy March Workshop with Public Space One
In preparation for our Joy March, we are partnering with Public Space One for a workshop to help you prepare to be bold, be silly, and be present! See examples of joyful creations by the Public Space One artists that have been used in Joy Marches of the past and create your own puppets, noise-makers, giant cardboard heads, and whatever else you can come up with. We’ll provide a multitude of materials to help you create something fantastic. Registration is appreciated for supply purposes, but not required. (An added bonus of registration is that you will get an event reminder email!)
We invite your to Find Your Voice at the Library’s first Joy March on Saturday, June 24 at 11am! Taking inspiration from Iowa City’s Public Space One, our silly mini-parade will march along the riverfront. Come equipped with noise makers, puppets, giant cardboard heads, costumes, brightly colored clothing and join the fun. All are welcome! Joy will not be postponed due to weather. Update 5/31: Check back soon for an update to the meeting place of the Joy March.
