Sensory-Friendly Wildlife Conservation with Wapsi River Environmental Education Center

Sensory-Friendly Wildlife Conservation with Wapsi River Environmental Education Center

Registration required! The Library welcomes our friends from the Wapsi River Environmental Education Center and invites everyone to celebrate Iowa’s wildlife and conservation success stories this summer. Topics may include birds of prey, otter reintroduction and more! This program is best suited for ages 6+.

The Library understands that our large events can be difficult for some of our patrons and their families to attend and enjoy. In order to make the Wildlife Conservation event more sensory-friendly*, we are adding an additional hour that is registration-only in order to keep noise and crowd levels low.

*A sensory-friendly event is an event that is designed to be less sensory-stimulating and overwhelming. This approach often makes it easier for individuals who have sensory sensitivities, such as those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who are sensitive to things like noise, colors, sounds and smells, to participate in social activities and community or professional events. -The Autism Services, Education, Resources, and Training Collaborative (ASERT)
