Local History Lecture Series: Who Was George Davenport?
Join local historian Gena Schantz to discover more about the man who gave his name to Davenport, Iowa. She will explore George Davenport, who was the first permanent settler in what we now know as the Quad Cities, and who enjoyed many careers from his home on Arsenal Island as an entrepreneur and town founder.
