Bix in Space! Summer Reading Finishing Celebration & Bix Porch Party
Summer is almost over--We have enjoyed a Universe of Stories, but it is time to slow our orbital speed and make a jazzy re-entry to Earth.
Help us celebrate all the amazing readers who participated in the Summer Reading Program this year by enjoying music, dancing, blowing bubbles, climbing inside the Mississippi Bend AEA’s Star Lab, getting your face painted, and watching a live drawing for door prizes and the Kid, Teen, and Adult Summer Reading Grand Prizes!
Don Estes and the Prairie Ramblers will be playing live jazz for the Davenport Public Library’s annual Bix Porch Party at the Main Library to kick off the Annual Bix Biederbecke Memorial Jazz Festival! You can find tickets & more info about the Jazz Festival here: https://www.bixsociety.org/
Be sure to bring your lawn chairs as we block off Main Street for some good old-fashioned fun!
And if you get hungry, the Teen Advisory Board will be providing hot dogs, popcorn, and lemonade with all donations going toward enriching the teen experience at the Davenport Public Library.
