Local Author Series: Lilly Setterdahl

Join local author Lilly Setterdahl for a presentation entitled, 'Was the Titanic That Sank Really the Titanic?'. She will tell the story of the Titanic illustrated by a PowerPoint program, and read excerpts from her latest novel, 'Titanic Sailing Again', published this spring in New York. She will also offer books for sale and autograph them.

Lilly Setterdahl is a native of Sweden, who has lived in East Moline since 1971. She has taught Swedish, freelanced as a correspondent, worked with emigration research and oral history, but is now devoting almost all her time to research and writing.

She has had 23 books published, 18 nonfiction (mostly about Swedes in America including Swedes in Moline, Illinois) and 5 novels. Four of her books are about the passenger line, Titanic, that sank in 1912, drowning about 1,500 people. A replica of the ship might sail the oceans in 2022. But Lilly has foreseen the possibility and has already written a novel about it.
