Community Quilt Project
Using books, reading, or community as the theme, create your own one-of-a-kind 11” quilt block to donate to our project. The finished quilt will be displayed at one of our Library locations throughout the spring. Your block can be styled however you are moved - pieced, appliqued, embroidered, or even designed using fabric paints. All donated blocks will become the property of the Davenport Public Library. Register to pick up an 11” square to design, or bring your finished block to the Service Desk at any Library location.
Guidelines for block:
- Blocks should somehow represent the themes of books, reading, or community.
- All blocks must be 11” x 11”, allowing for a 1/2” seam allowance. (area visible will be 10”)
- All designs must be family-friendly.
- Blocks can be made of any woven non-stretchy fabric (preferably cotton) and may be embellished with paint, sequins, buttons, felt, or other materials.
- Each entry will be posted to the Library's social media accounts.
