Hard Work: The Mind of an Author

Dr. Burl Randolph, Jr., a local author, entrepreneur, and retired combat veteran will speak on the topics of being a writer and author, the differences between the two, and determining if hard work is a factor for success for either one. The presenter will provide Take-Aways for the participants during this interactive session. Meet and greet from 5:30-6p, event from 6-7p with question session to follow from 7-7:30p.

Author, editor, speaker; scholar, practitioner, leader; Soldier, warrior, patriot. These all describe Dr. Burl Randolph, Jr., DM, author of Amazon Best-Selling Inspired, Not Retired: Leadership Lessons from Father to Son. Dr. Burl retired as a US Army Colonel and had 32 years of military leadership and management experience, including three combat tours in Iraq. He applied his expertise to leadership coaching, organizational planning, corporate training and speaking, government contracting, and writing services referred to as Legacy Expression.

Dr. Burl’s first self-publishing foray began in 2015 by coauthoring Pastor Rev Stanley Moore’s riveting personal tragedy Can God Trust You with Trouble? This was followed in 2016 by editing No Disruptions: The Future of Mid-Market Manufacturing by Andrea Olson. After helping with several doctoral dissertations, peer-reviewed articles, and academic works, Dr. Burl finally shared his personal story in Inspired, Not Retired. Also available as an eBook, he recently expanded the Inspired, Not Retired Leadership series by releasing Inspired, Not Retired: The Audiobook, in February 2022, and The Inspired, Not Retired Workbook: A Guide to Developing Your Leadership Lessons in March 2022.
